Where Shall You Take Me? (2003)

Perhaps it is for the better that this one is not currently streaming on Spotify - it will make finding it in a used bin someday all the more exciting. Then again, it is puzzling that Damien Jurado’s best album is no longer available (was it ever?) on the platform. There must be a rhythm to the reason, but instead of trying to control the uncontrollable, let’s enjoy this album in whatever format you can get - CD preferred as the endless Saskatchewan sky passes you by. The Rosie Thomas duet on “Window” holds up as well as a share of Berkshire Hathaway acquired in 2003 and the percussion on “Matinee” is still some of the most compelling of the century.
